Dear Friends,
After much nose to the grind we managed to successfully wrap up a thirty hour post-production on our new video featuring the song “Everywhere” off our Rocket Science for Dummies album. It was a completely self-funded project which somehow, by the grace of the gods worked out.
It went very smoothly until the fire and police department showed up at 2 a.m. due to the building alarm blaring after our smoke machine was activated. We were almost booted out of there but the second in command took mercy on us and let us stay to finish. Curiously he asked “Is there anybody famous in here?” Sorry to disappoint you chief.
Our intention was threefold: to present a visual loungy late nite vibe to showcase the overall sound of AOA, to portray the sense of "disconnection" in the verses, and a sense of uplifted, almost euphoric connected-ness in the chorus. At a certain point in the 3rd verse, the "disconnect girl" has a "soul defrost" and ultimately experiences a shift in consciousness. It is one of devotional union, feeling the childlike ecstasy of knowing she is always sheltered - "if I saw you everywhere, I would have no reason to fear being alone."

AoA dedicates this video to the loving memory of Marian Thomas (July 28, 1983 - May 11, 2009) and David Rituper (July 18, 1958 - Feb 25 2008)
Marion was the fiancé of our friend and director Satish More, She was tragically killed in a car crash two months before filming. Satish worked on this video in dedication to her and to help his heart heal.
David was the long time loving partner of Howie Siegel. They both owned the warehouse where we shot the video. He passed away suddenly last year. Howie was so generous to let us film in their space.
Our show at Nublu on August 28th was fantastic. Hope to see all of you there again soon.
