Astronauts of Antiquity Band Letter: "Our Last Show @ Shrine NYC!"
Astronauts of Antiquity Band Letter

May 21, 2009

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.

Greetings friends… Hope everyone has been enjoying the Spring in all its “can’t make up my mind” variations.

As for Astronauts of Antiquity we remain on a steady course of writing, rehearsing and exploring the right venues to play in NYC and in the Northeast.

Our last show at Shrine NYC is a perfect example of what we have in mind. The club has a warm and earthy environment. The vibe was sweetly chilled. It was a fabulous turnout! The audience was awesome! Their antennas were raised high. Luv and support filled the room from the persons dangling on the handrails and silhouetted bodies crouched in nooks and crannies vying for space to the lucky ones at tables and front row seats on the floor. Thank you to all who supported us that night by coming to our show, buying our cd, signing up for the mailing list and offering encouraging words.  Join us again @ Shrine on Saturday July 11th @ 10 pm.  It's FREE!

Sadly though this was to be our bass player Shyam’s last show with us. He recently was laid off from his day gig as a copy editor. He and his wife took this as an opportunity to act on a dream they had to move to South India where they will dive into the rich culture and music. All luv and blessings to them both.

Fortunately we have been working with an incredible versatile bass player by the name of Mario Padron. Mario holds a deep groove in dub and is an impressive all around player. He also has experience with kirtan. Kirtan is devotional music born out of the Bhakti Yoga tradition. He is a wonderful person and we are needless to say very excited and honored to be working with him.

Sharing the stage with other like-minded artists in a multi-media (film, music, art, dance…) setting celebrating the revolution/evolution of consciousness is a concept we have long embraced and are working now to bring into visible reality. Astronauts of Antiquity have an ambitious vision of expanding this kind of event to all corners of the planet with the sole intention to unify, beautify, dance and chant in a massive transcendent party! We will let you know when our first RevCon (Revolution of Consciousness) show hits the stage. More than likely it will be here in NYC hopefully around the Fall… It’s a BIG job. Someone’s gotta do it… Stay tuned for updates… You are all invited!
